The «Communicative Etiquette in the Russian-Speaking Environment: Verbal and Non-Verbal Aspects» program has been completed at the Center for Open Education of YSPU.
From the first handshake and eye contact to professional networking and public speaking – students analyzed how politeness formulas sound, why intonation matters in negotiations, and how non-verbal cues shape first impressions.
Role-playing games such as «On Public Transport» and «In the Boss’s Waiting Room,» various business simulations, analysis of public speeches by leaders, and even simulated conflict situations — skills were practiced until they became second nature.
Lecturer Valeria Kravets conducted the final event in the format of full-scale business negotiations. Students transformed into company directors, marketers, export managers, and technical specialists.
Some professionally «sold» a product to the company’s advantage, others masterfully negotiated a discount, and some demonstrated remarkable diplomatic skills to keep the conversation going even in the most challenging circumstances.
We thank all program participants for their engagement. These skills will now serve you not only in your careers but also in everyday life.
The project is implemented by the My History Foundation for the Support of Humanities, with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.
