On October 25, 2024, an educational event — the presentation contest «Festival of Holidays: Russia and Côte d’Ivoire» — took place at the YSPU Center for Open Education based at UMECI University. Supported by the Russian Ministry of Education and the «My History» Foundation for Support of Humanitarian Sciences, the 35 participants attended the event.

Students learning Russian prepared vibrant presentations about major holidays celebrated in Russia. More than 12 people gave presentations.

The goal of the presentations was not only to introduce the history of Russian holidays but also to discuss traditions and national holiday dishes. Furthermore, students attempted to draw parallels between our cultures by presenting corresponding Ivorian holidays and their unique features.

The audience actively participated in discussing the presentations, asked questions, and exchanged opinions, which sometimes evolved into lively debates. It was engaging!
