The Central Sikhote-Alin is a mountain region in the south of the Russian Far East. The length of the mountains is 1,200 kilometers, and the width is up to 250 kilometers. The height of the highest mountain is 2,090 meters.

This is a unique place – it contains the last large area of untouched taiga. Its area is more than a million hectares. Rare trees and plants grow in these forests.

Almost 100 years ago, the Sikhote-Alin Nature Reserve was created here to protect rare animals. Amur tigers, sables, Himalayan bears, leopards, and many birds live here.
