Day two in Accra: the magic of a fairy tale, stage and sincere smiles
On July 8, the “I Love Russia” Festival of Sciences and Arts in Accra gave guests a real kaleidoscope of emotions. If the first day introduced the geography and traditions of peoples, then the second was devoted to the Russian word, image and theater.
The morning began with an immersion into the world of folklore. The lecture “Secrets of Russian Fairy Tales” brought together a full hall — students of the University of Ghana were delighted to discover the depth of the images of Baba Yaga, Ivan the Fool and Vasilisa the Wise. Nekrasova Anna not only presented the plots, but deciphered the ancient symbols hidden in the tales, drawing parallels with African oral traditions. The audience asked questions, argued and applauded — the Russian fairy tale found a new interpretation here.
Next came the creative laboratory: a master class on making a fairy-tale accessory turned an ordinary table into a magical workshop. Participants created Russian-style amulets with their own hands. Everyone took with them not just a souvenir, but a piece of a fairy tale, made with soul.
The main event of the day was a theater competition among students of the University of Ghana. Young actors presented their own versions of Russian folk tales — with bright costumes, live music and unexpected directorial decisions. The jury noted the courage of reading and sincere love for the material. The level of production was so high that the audience demanded an encore!
The program ended with a ceremony. All festival participants received certificates and memorable gifts from Russia. Pride and gratitude shone in everyone’s eyes. The final touch was a general photo session — hundreds of smiles, the flags of Russia and Ghana in one frame, united by the motto “I love Russia.” Two days flew by in a blink. The final is ahead, but it is already clear: this meeting will remain in our hearts for a long time. Russia and Ghana: learning, creating, getting inspired together!
