The Kul Sharif Mosque is the main mosque of Tatarstan. It was built in 2005 for the 1000th anniversary of Kazan. The «Leaning» Syuyumbike Tower was built in the 16th-17th centuries. Today, it is a symbol of Kazan that tourists love to photograph. The height of the tower is 58 meters. Entry inside is closed. There is a sad legend about this tower.
The Annunciation Cathedral is the oldest church in Kazan. It was built in 1555-1562 by order of Ivan the Terrible. This is the first stone church in Kazan. It was built by the same masters who built St. Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow.
