Day Three in Ghana:
For Adults and Children!
The third day of our festival was truly a marathon—we worked at two venues, and each gave us a sea of emotions and new friends.
An important meeting with students eager to learn was held at the University of Ghana. They were given a presentation on educational opportunities in Russia and also learned about the promotion of the Open Education Centers network—a project that makes the Russian language and Russian educational standards more accessible worldwide.
A presentation of the teaching and methodological developments of Yaroslavl State Pedagogical University (YSPU) in the field of teaching Russian as a foreign language was of particular interest. Students asked many questions about methods, internships, and how modern approaches help them master the «great and mighty» language faster.
The event was moderated by V.A. Kravets. Thank you for the lively dialogue and professional approach!
The most appreciative audience awaited us at the EMORT School Complex – the children! The program was dedicated to introducing the children to multinational Russia.
A.E. Kuptsov captivated the children with an engaging story about the traditions, culture, and diversity of the peoples inhabiting our country. The children learned that Russia is made up of dozens of unique ethnic groups with their own customs.
From theory to practice, A.A. Nekrasova led the students in an intellectual game called «My Game» on the theme «The Peoples of Russia.» The excitement was incredible! The children competed in their knowledge of geography, dishes, and national costumes.
But what’s a holiday without treats?
We organized a short culinary tour: the students delightedly sampled sweets from all over Russia. It was a joy to see their happy eyes! The day’s results: two venues, interested parties, and an invaluable cultural exchange. Our Festival has concluded, but we look forward to new exciting encounters with Ghana! We thank everyone who helped organize the Festival: our wonderful and talented teachers, A.E. Kuptsov, P.V. Yureneva, A.A. Nekrasova, D.O. Svyatokho, and especially V.A. Kravets, who did a tremendous job organizing the Festival events in Ghana and preparing Ghanaian students for participation in the ceremony and the theater competition! We thank P.A. Guzhova and M.V. Basharina for the wonderful design of the Festival venues! A huge thank you to the staff of the University of Ghana for their support, especially Ildiko Csajbok-Twerefou, a lecturer in the Department of European Languages at the University of Ghana!
We also thank the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ghana, the Russian House of the Center for Public Diplomacy, and the EMORT school complex for their support!
