In the northern part of Russia, in the Komi Republic, there are the amazing Virgin Komi Forests. These are the largest untouched forests in all of Europe. Their area is 32 thousand square kilometers.

Here, on the slopes of the Ural Mountains, a true wild taiga has been preserved with its beauty – coniferous forests, mountain tundras, clean rivers, and swamps. In this place, winter is long and snowy, and summer is short. Nature here is very rich. You can see Siberian and European plant species. It is in these places that the Pechora River begins.

In these forests, you can encounter 40 species of animals (brown bears, moose, sables), 204 species of birds, and in the rivers, you can find 16 species of fish. Many plants and animals are listed in the Red Book.
