On July 9, Russian language courses were launched for 1st-4th year students of the University of Ghana in Accra.
YSPU teacher Alexander Kuptsov conducted classes for university students dedicated to the Great Victory and its 80th anniversary, the history, traditions and values of the Russian people, the specifics of the Russian language of professional communication in jurisprudence and economics, the work of Sergei Yesenin, whose anniversary will be marked in October 2025.
On July 17, another site of the YSPU Center for Open Education was decorated in the EMORT School Complex in Accra (Ghana).
The Russian language classroom at the school was decorated with portraits of the presidents of both countries, portraits of Russian writers and scientists, illustrations from the fairy tales of K.D. Ushinsky with QR codes that send to the website of the YSPU Center, where you can read fairy tales and watch cartoons based on them. An interactive map of Russia and Ghana will tell you about the sights of the two countries in both Russian and English.
On July 28, the YSPU Center for Open Education at the University of Ghana held a cultural and educational event «Poetry of Sergei Yesenin: the Key to Russian Culture».
Following the completion of the additional general education program, YSPU teacher Alexander Kuptsov held an event dedicated to the life and work of the great Russian poet Sergei Yesenin, who would have turned 130 on October 3, 2025.
The students got acquainted with the biography of the poet, assessed his contribution to Russian literature and culture. During the event the students discussed important themes and images of Yesenin’s poetry, as well as folklore motifs of his work. The participants of the event actively shared their thoughts about the significance of the poet’s work for Russian literature and the relevance of his poetry in the modern world. The students enjoyed reading the poet’s poems in Russian.
