The launch of the Center for Open Education in the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire was marked by an official ceremony on October 9th. Administration of the Methodist University, ETIC University, Félix Houphouët-Boigny University of Abidjan, representatives of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Côte d’Ivoire, Russian teachers, and African students kicked off the implementation of a project that is an important component of Russian-African partnership in the educational sphere.
The Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire and concurrently to Burkina Faso, Alexey Eduardovich Saltykov, who attended the ceremony, expressed confidence that the Center will become a conduit of the Russian language and culture, a promoter of Russian science, and a platform for fruitful humanitarian dialogue between Russia and Côte d’Ivoire. The Ambassador particularly emphasized that the close ties between the universities of Abidjan and Yaroslavl will make it possible to develop cooperation not only from the standpoint of educational dialogue but also in terms of advancing interaction in the field of scientific research.








The President of the Methodist University, addressing the audience, highly appreciated the importance of the event. A welcome video address was sent by the Rector of YSPU, Member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation M.V. Gruzdev, who stressed the significance of developing partnership between the universities.
